Dr David Sandifer is the NSW Director of Family Voice Australia, the lobby group previously known as the Festival of Light, associated with the Reverend Fred Nile.
In his latest newsletter, Dr Sandifer quotes from Philippians 4:8 in the Bible (“whatever is true, honourable, just, pure, lovely, commendable … think about these things”), and says:
It is too much to ask that Paul’s high standard should determine the public space … However, it is not too much to ask that the public space be free from content that all acknowledge is harmful to children.
He has the internet in mind, impressed by a British system whereby those who seek “adult” content must actively “opt out” of a filter, rendering the internet “safe for children.”
Family Voice Australia is hosting two British experts on censorship this month, hoping to start a conversation leading to legislative reform. You can catch them in Sydney on May 20 at St Anne’s Anglican Church, Top Ryde.
