For broadcast on 2CH Sydney, 25 Aug 2013.
As it does in the lead up to every federal election, the Australian Christian Lobby will hold a special event to highlight key policy differences between the most influential political parties, and to inform voters about issues of significance to them as they go to cast their votes.
The ACL event will be held in Sydney on September 2, and webcast live to churches that register. This year’s event will feature recorded addresses by the Prime Minister and Opposition Leader, and a panel comprising former Deputy Prime Minister John Anderson, former Labor Attorney-General Robert McClelland, Dr Keith Garner, Superintendent of Wesley Mission, bioethicist Dr Megan Best, and Dr Justine Toh from the Centre for Public Christianity.
ACL Managing Director Lyle Shelton will facilitate the discussion in front of a live studio audience around issues including refugees, gambling, poverty, sexualisation, family and marriage, religious freedom, and life issues. Contact your local church for the nearest webcast location.
I’m Rod Benson for the NSW Council of Churches.
