For more than 80 years the NSW Council of Churches have proclaimed the good news of Jesus Christ and advanced a Christian perspective on public issues. The Council’s main objectives are to:
(a) promote unity and united action among evangelical churches in NSW;
(b) encourage fellowship and discussion between member churches;
(c) support strategies for evangelical outreach, mission and ministry;
(d) apply biblical and theological principles to contemporary issues;
(e) engage local, state and federal governments on public policy issues.
The Council comprises representatives of eight evangelical Christian denominations –Anglican, Baptist, Churches of Christ, CMA, Congregational, Presbyterian, Reformed and Salvation Army.
We are seeking God’s direction for the appointment of a new Executive Director, responsible to the Board. The role is 0.4FTE for a term of 3 years, with the possibility of renewal as per the NSWCC Constitution.
The successful applicant will be a mature Christian whose has research skills, good communication skills (oral and written) and networking skills. They will be able to advocate for the Council in the public sphere, including the State and Federal Governments, on social issues within the theological framework of the Council.
