#1175 for broadcast on 2CH Sydney, 10 January 2016
The NSW Council of Churches has enjoyed a long partnership with 2CH, and these “Christian social commentaries,” as the Reverend Bernard Judd called them, have gone to air, usually after the news on Sundays, for almost 60 years.
The Council seeks to advance a Christian perspective on the big issues of the day, from national security to bioethics to Aboriginal reconciliation, marriage and family, environmental care, gambling, education, refugees, religious freedom, and a host of other issues.
I’ve had the privilege of presenting three or four commentaries every week, without a break, for the past six and half years, and the time has come to say farewell.
For their advice and encouragement, I thank Deaconess Margaret Rodgers, the Reverend Dr Ross Clifford, and Kel Richards. For outstanding technical production, my thanks to Gary King.
And a special word of thanks to my listeners. Without you, engaged, mindful, sharing the moment, none of this would make sense.
Until we meet again, I’m Rod Benson for the NSW Council of Churches.
